The construction of the Rio Azul Jungle Lodge started in 2001 and from the beginning we took great care to cause the smallest possible impact on the environment.
The location of the lodge was carefully selected and the clearing where it stands was opened only to a size necessary to assure the safety of our guests.
We selected a site that allowed the preservation of the important riparian forest along the water courses and when possible the trees removed from the clearing area were used in the construction of the restaurant and cabins.
The cabins can be arranged as single, double, twin bedded or couple rooms. All the cabins are equipped with air conditioner and individual bathrooms with hot water shower.
The electricity is sourced from the national grid, meaning we have no need to use polluting diesel generators.
